Northwest Iowa — The Iowa Great Lakes Walleye Weekend registration deadline is almost here.
There are two days left to register for the Walleye Weekend, which will be on Saturday, May 6th, and Sunday, May 7th. Registration will close on Friday, May 5th, at 11:59 p.m. for all events scheduled for the weekend, including Iowa Great Lakes Walleye Weekend for Adults and Youth, Extended Contest, and The Biggest Walleye Tournament. The Biggest Walleye Tournament has cash prizes for the top three, which will come out of registration fees. First place will receive a 25 percent payout, second place will receive a 15 percent payout, and third place will receive a 10 percent payout.
The awards luncheon will be on Sunday, May 7th. Lunch will begin at noon and go until 1:00 p.m. The awards ceremony will begin at 1:00 p.m. Some awards will include one thousand dollars in Chamber Bucks, coolers, gift cards, and much more. There is a grand prize for catching a tagged walleye that is worth $41,000.
