Sheldon, Iowa — We are into the last week of the 2016 Sheldon United Fund drive; and while the drive got a significant boost in the last week, significant year-end giving will be needed in order for the drive to finish on goal.
The goal this year is $31,000.
The fund drive is now 96% finished. The funds are at about 76% of goal, at $23,666. Over $7300 has yet to be raised. In the last week, donors gave $4,060.
Contributions to any or all of the organizations served by the Sheldon United Fund may be left at any of the four Sheldon banks through Saturday, or you can also send them to PO Box 41, Sheldon, IA 51201. Explanations of the organizations are also available at the banks.
Each week we’ve been mentioning a few of the organizations that can benefit from your donations. This time the list includes:
- The American Red Cross
- Boy Scouts
- Children’s World
- Compass Pointe (NW Iowa Alcohol & Drug Treatment)
- Dolly Parton Imagination Library
The United Fund will be assisting 25 different organizations in Sheldon and the surrounding communities this year, and the board thanks you for your contribution.
