Sheldon, Iowa — The 2017 Sheldon United Fund Drive began this past Monday, but Friday morning, the United Fund Committee honored the corporate entities that helped last year’s United Fund Drive surpass its goal.
Representatives of approximately two dozen entities accepted certificates at, a Friday morning coffee, thanking them for their work in making the 2016 drive a success. Last year’s Sheldon United Fund Drive surpassed the $31-thousand goal, finishing the year with a total of $32,594.
The Sheldon United Fund Drive for 2017 began Monday, October 2nd, and continues through December 31st. This year’s goal is $31-thousand, the same as the 2016 goal.
The 2017 Sheldon United Fund will be assisting twenty-six different organizations within Sheldon and the surrounding communities. Donations may be dropped off at five different locations this year, including: Peoples Bank, Citizens State Bank, Iowa State Bank, Northwestern Bank, and North Star Community Credit Union, all in Sheldon, or you can mail your donation to P.O. Box 41, Sheldon, Iowa, 51201.
