United Fund Total Grows By $1550 In Last Week

Sheldon, Iowa — Week number four of the 2020 Sheldon United Fund campaign has ended, with $1,550 donated last week.

United Fund officials say last week’s donations bring the total to $9,584.  After last week’s donations, the United Fund drive still needs $20,416 in the next nine weeks, or an average of about $2,268 per week in order for organizers to reach their fundraising goal of $30,000.

This year’s Sheldon United Fund drive runs through the end of December, and will benefit twenty-five non-profits in Sheldon and surrounding communities, including:

His Little Ones Preschool is a preschool program for 4-year-old children, and is part of the St. Patrick’s School system. The money is used for landscaping and window treatments for the doors and windows.

LOVE, Inc. currently has twenty-three partner churches in Sheldon and the surrounding communities. LOVE, Inc. receives requests for help from agencies, churches and individuals, then screens the requests for extent of need and legitimacy. If appropriate, the need is referred to a local church program, volunteer, or a community service agency.

Sheldon United Fund donations can be dropped off at Citizen’s State Bank, Iowa State Bank, Northwestern Bank, or Peoples Bank, all in Sheldon. Or you may mail your contribution to P.O. Box 41, Sheldon, Iowa 51201.

Sheldon United Fund Board members thank the businesses and individuals in Sheldon and the surrounding area for their support.
