Varied Agenda For Wednesday Sheldon City Council Meeting

Sheldon, Iowa — When the Sheldon City Council meets in regular session Wednesday afternoon, they’re expected to accept the resignation of current Sheldon Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Director Mike Davis. In addition, they’re scheduled to appoint an interim replacement as EMA Director.

In other action, the Council is expected to bring the contingent of full-time officers on the Sheldon Police Department back to eight, with the hiring of current Reserve Officer Shane Nellis, who will replace retired Officer Rob Hegenbarth.

The Council will also hear a budget recap during Wednesday’s meeting, as well as set the date and time for a public hearing on the fiscal year 22/23 Maximum Property Tax Dollars.

There will be a public hearing held at this week’s meeting, on the subject of the Rainbow Drive Project. The Council is also expected to award the contract for that project at Wednesday’s meeting.

This week’s Sheldon City Council meeting will begin at 4:30 Wednesday afternoon in Council Chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center. As always, the meeting is open to the public, but if you can’t attend in person you can watch the meeting live, online, via YouTube Live.
