Northwest Iowa — This Wednesday is Veterans Day, a day set aside to give honor and thanks to the brave men and women who have proudly served in our nation’s armed forces.
This Veterans Day, several area schools and businesses are honoring our veterans in some very special ways. Lets take a look at some of them:
Veterans will eat breakfast free during regular breakfast hours at the Sheldon Hy-Vee
Sheldon Christian School will hold a Veterans Day Program at 8:45 am
Prairie Queen Bakery & Restaurant in Sheldon will serve free coffee to veterans, as well as offer a 15% discount on any purchase
St. Patrick’s School in Sheldon, along with the Sheldon American Legion, will hold a Veteran’s Day Ceremony at 11 am at St. Patrick’s Church
Taco Johns in Sheldon will offer a 10% discount to veterans, as they do every day
Sheldon Pizza Ranch will offer a half-price buffet for veterans
George-Little Rock Schools will hold a Veterans Day Program at 9 am in the G-LR High School Gym
Central Lyon Schools will hold a Veterans Day Assembly at 10:30 am in the High School Gym
West Lyon Schools will hold a Veterans Day Program at 2:45 pm Wednesday
