Sheldon, Iowa — The 14th Village Northwest Unlimited Run, Walk & Roll took place Saturday morning, with a record number of people taking part.
Village Northwest Unlimited Director of Development Ryan Haack says the number of participants this year far surpassed the old record.
Haack says this year’s Run, Walk & Roll included a new competitor’s age group for those 90-years and up.
He says the Village also made some additions to this year’s event.
Haack noted that people come from far and wide to participate in the VNU Run, Walk & Roll each year.
The 14th Village Northwest Run, Walk & Roll took place Saturday morning, beginning and ending on the Village campus.

Sheldon, Iowa — Whether it’s running, walking, rolling a wheel chair, donating money, or just having fun, there’s an opportunity for you this Saturday in Sheldon.
Village Northwest Unlimited will be hosting the 14th annual benefit Run, Walk & Roll event on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. We talked to the Village’s Director of Development, Ryan Haack, who tells us about the event.
He tells us there are two main objectives to the Run, Walk, & Roll.
According to Haack, there are more opportunities this year.
Haack gave us a traffic advisory — the event uses some of the Sheldon Recreational Trails and the sidewalks along Highway 18 in Sheldon. The start of the event has been pushed back an hour this year to 9 a.m.
Registrations are being taken online, in person on Friday until about 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning, starting at 7 a.m.
