Dense fog will slowly dissipate this morning, giving way to increased sun and warmer temperatures. A few morning showers may linger in portions of the area, turning into isolated late day thunderstorms in NW Iowa and Nebraska. Thunderstorms will develop quickly tonight, and a few could become severe. In addition to a large hail risk, locally heavy rain will be possible. Hot, humid and unsettled weather continues for the rest of the week. Daily highs near 90 degrees with chances of late day and overnight thunderstorms persist into Friday. The latest data suggests a mostly dry Memorial Day weekend, but temperatures will stay well above normal in the 80s.
