Northwest Iowa — You can learn the best way to “put your garden to bed” for the season by attending a seminar put on by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
Dawn Henderson is the Iowa State University horticulture program coordinator for Lyon, Osceola, Sioux and O’Brien Counties. She tells us there are two sessions of the program left, on Monday, September 23rd and Tuesday, September 24th in Primghar and Rock Rapids, respectively. She gives us a preview.
The main focus, says Henderson, will be on vegetable gardens. She says there are options when it comes to preparing the land for next year.
Both programs start at 6:30 p.m.There is no fee to attend or pre-registration necessary for the programs. Questions can be directed to Dawn at 712-472-2576 or dawnh@iastate.edu.
