Sibley, Iowa — Construction is underway on a $2.7 million expansion and remodeling project at the Sibley-Ocheyedan High School in Sibley. And when it’s done, the high school band will no longer be packed in like sardines.
That’s from Superintendent Bill Boer, who tells us more about it.
Talks began about two years ago as to what to do with overcrowding in the band room, says Boer. Ground was broken about two weeks ago he says, but they’re waiting for the weather to cooperate a little better.
He tells us how the board decided to finance the project.
Mr. Boer says they’re hoping to have the project done for the most part by the time school starts in the fall.
