Statewide Iowa — Non-irrigated cropland cash rent averaged $230.00 per acre in Iowa during 2019, down $1.00 from 2017 according to the latest report released by USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Pasture rented for cash averaged $59.00 per acre, up $5.00 from 2017.
Scott County had the highest cash rent for non-irrigated cropland, at $277.00 per acre, followed by Bremer County, at $268.00 per acre. Lyon, O’Brien, and Dubuque rounded out the top five at $260.00 per acre. Clarke County, at $136.00 per acre, had the lowest average cash rent for non-irrigated cropland.
The highest published pasture cash rent was in Pottawattamie County, at $91.50 per acre followed by Fremont, at $89.00 per acre. Sioux, Mills, Cass, and Adair also had pasture cash rental rates of $80.00 per acre or higher.
