Located inside Lot 933 at this year’s show is the legendary Big Bud 747 tractor, which also has the world’s largest farm tires. Big Bud is owned by Robert and Randy Williams of Big Sandy, Montana. Robert tells IARN that Big Bud is easy to spot at the Farm Progress Show.

“It’s been out here for seven years and we just got it back last year with new tires on it and put it back to work,” said Williams. “It spent a little bit of time there, but Titan called and wanted it back out to the Farm Progress Show. We turned right around with it and brought it right back.”

According to Titan International, Big Bud is an 1,100-horsepower tractor that is 27 feet long, 25 feet wide, and 14 feet tall. Robert Williams says Big Bud was designed by a man named Ron Harmon, and that it’s new set of tires are made by Titan.

“When we bought the tractor, it was strictly a workhorse,” said Williams. “It spent its entire life working. It’s never been for show. It’s just always been something that was a well-designed, massive piece of equipment that worked a lot. It’s done that its whole life. With that said, bringing it home to Montana in 1997, we thought nothing about anything but just putting it to work. So, that’s what it’s done since then. It’s worked until our previous tires started failing.”

The Big Bud 747 isn’t the only tractor at the Titan exhibit. Titan is also showcasing a Case 340 Magnum from Cole the Cornstar. More information on Big Bud and the Titan International booth can be found at farmprogressshow.com.
