(KIWA Staff Photo)Sioux Center, Iowa (Sioux County Radio) — Bible League International is preparing for several regional events this September, including conferences in Michigan and Iowa, along with an Iowa retreat.
The first conference is scheduled for September 11th in Byron Center, Michigan, followed by the Northwest Iowa Fall Conference in Sioux Center on September 14th and 15th.
During a recent interview, regional volunteer Sherri Ten Napel and Marilyn Feekes, Chairwoman of Fall Conference Planning, shared insights into the organization’s 88-year history and global ministry. Founded in 1938 by William Chapman, Bible League International now serves under-resourced churches and communities in more than 50 countries.
The organization partners with Wycliffe Ministries and also offers its own simplified Bible translation tailored for new readers. Ten Napel described the easy-to-read version.
Ten Napel also highlighted the organization’s work with local leaders in Central and South America.
Sioux Center Conference Details
The Sioux Center Fall Conference begins Monday, September 14th, with a 5:30 p.m. social hour followed by dinner at 6 p.m. Bible League International President Jos Snoep and featured speaker Gayle Haas will address attendees during the evening program.
On September 15th, doors open at 9 a.m. for registration, coffee, and food. A worship service led by Jennifer Friends begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by Haas’s keynote presentation portraying Corrie Ten Boom, the Holocaust survivor and Christian author.
Tuesday’s schedule also introduces a local artisan vendor fair featuring handmade crafts, pottery, journals, clothing, and food items. Feekes says local creators were invited to participate.
Registration Information
Tickets for the September 14th dinner cost $25. For Tuesday, September 15th, registration is $40 with lunch included, or $30 for conference sessions only.
Attendees can register online by selecting their preferred regional event through the organization’s website.
