Sioux County, Iowa — Another case of bird flu has been reported in northwest Iowa.
The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship says the virus has been detected in a commercial layer flock in Sioux County. It’s the second detection of bird flu in that county and is the sixth one Iowa in poultry so far in 2024.
A case of highly pathogenic avian influenza was detected this past weekend in a turkey flock in Palo Alto County. Governor Kim Reynolds has issued disaster proclamations for both counties as a result.
