Spirit Lake, Iowa (KUOO) — The latest data from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ Beach Monitoring Program shows elevated E. coli levels at two public beaches in the Iowa Great Lakes.
Swimming is not recommended at Emerson Bay on West Lake Okoboji and Crandall’s Beach on the northside of Big Spirit Lake.
Public swim areas at Marble Beach and Ainsworth Beach on Big Spirit Lake, along with Pikes Point, Gull Point, and Triboji Beach on West Lake Okoboji, tested below the threshold and were listed as OK for swimming.
