(KIWA Staff Photo)Boyden, Iowa (Sioux County Radio) — Siouxland Habitat for Humanity plans to begin construction on its first home in Boyden next spring, and applications are now open for families interested in the homeownership opportunity.
Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2027. The organization says the project will provide a safe, affordable home for a local family while bringing Boyden residents, businesses, churches, and civic organizations together.
Sioux County Director Kurt Franje says the effort represents more than a home — hope, opportunity, and a community united to make a lasting impact.
Applications Accepted Through September 30th
Families interested in becoming homeowners through the project have until September 30th to apply.

Habitat homeowners help construct their homes and pay an affordable mortgage. Siouxland Habitat for Humanity, founded in 1992, is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and describes itself as a Christian housing ministry.
Community Support Sought for Boyden Build
Siouxland Habitat plans to involve the community throughout the project. Expected events and milestones include:
- Groundbreaking
- Sponsor a Stud initiative
- Family fun night
- Home dedication
