Des Moines, Iowa (RI) — Governor Kim Reynolds has signed two major agriculture-related bills into law.
Iowa Agriculture Secretary Mike Naig says the ag and natural resources budget includes new “farm-to-faucet” water-quality funding.
The bill includes $25 million to upgrade the nitrate-treatment system at Central Iowa Water Works. Naig says it provides funding to a variety of water-quality projects.
Naig says more farmers are getting involved in conservation efforts.
Reynolds also signed the first ever Iowa Farm Act.
Naig says it helps a variety of ag programs that ultimately help Iowans.
Naig says he appreciates the bipartisan support the bill received in both chambers.
