(KIWA Staff Photo)Hawarden, Iowa (Sioux County Radio) — The Hawarden United Foundation is accepting applications for another round of disaster-relief funding for individuals and businesses affected by the 2024 flooding in Hawarden.
The additional funds are intended to provide continued assistance to residents and business owners who experienced financial losses or ongoing hardship from the disaster. Homeowners and businesses are both eligible to apply.
What Homeowners Must Provide
Homeowner applications request information about:
- Flood damage
- Household losses
- Foundation issues
- Financial losses
- FEMA assistance received
- Insurance coverage
- Other financial aid already provided
What Businesses Must Provide
Business applications ask for details on:
- Extent of building damage
- Repairs, equipment, inventory, and supply losses
- Assistance already received
- How additional funds would help maintain operations and retain employees
The foundation says the effects of the 2024 flood continue to impact many residents, and the additional funding is meant to offer meaningful support to those still facing financial challenges.
Application Details
Applications are available in English and Spanish and must be returned to the Hawarden United Foundation no later than September 30th, 2026.
