Okoboji, Iowa (Sioux County Radio) — The 92nd annual Okoboji Bible Conference will get underway Saturday, August 1st, at the tabernacle grounds in Arnolds Park and continue through Friday, August 7th.

This year’s conference will again include special gatherings for international students, local young adults, and pastors from throughout the region.

Nations and Nutty Bars

Conference Director Pastor Mark Schwarz says the Omaha-based Global Friends ministry works to build friendships with J-1 international students visiting the area. That partnership will lead into the Nations and Nutty Bars gathering on Monday, August 3rd.

About 250 people attended last year’s event. This year’s gathering will include a 9 p.m. meal and a free Nutty Bar, scheduled late to accommodate international students who work until 8:30 or 9 p.m.

The evening also serves as a farewell before Global Friends returns to Omaha later in the week.

Event for Pastors and Leaders

A second special event is planned for Tuesday, August 4th, for pastors and church leaders throughout the region.

Gifts and gift cards will be distributed to attendees. While registration is not required for the overall conference, pastors and leaders planning to attend Tuesday’s event must register at okobojiconference.org.
