Storm Lake, Iowa (KAYL) — A Peterson man is facing multiple felony charges after Storm Lake police investigated a report of sexual abuse involving a minor earlier this summer.
Police say they received the report on July 21st, involving a belated allegation of sexual abuse that occurred at a Storm Lake residence in June 2026. The department launched an investigation immediately, working alongside the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and the MercyOne Siouxland Child Advocacy Center.
Following that joint investigation, police sought arrest warrants Monday for the suspect, 35-year-old Christopher Rodriguez. Rodriguez is cited on the charges of:
- Second-degree sexual abuse (Class B felony)
- Lascivious acts with a child (Class C felony)
- Incest (Class D felony)
- Child endangerment (aggravated misdemeanor)
- Indecent contact with a child (aggravated misdemeanor)
Rodriguez was located Wednesday by Sioux City police, who took him into custody without incident. He is now awaiting extradition to Buena Vista County.
