Sheldon, Iowa — A son of the community was the special speaker at the Sheldon Community Development Corporation (SCDC) annual meeting this week.
Those who attended said it was a great turn out. Roughly 120 people were on hand to hear what Sheldon native, Dr. Jeffrey Stamp had to say. Stamp is a Sheldon High School graduate who is a professor of entrepreneurship at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Stamp says entrepreneurship starts with an idea.
He tells us what people need to do with those ideas.
He says people who grow up in northwest Iowa and similar places may have an advantage.
Interestingly, Stamp doesn’t teach in the U of M College of Business. His background is in science.
Dr. Stamp made his comments on Thursday morning on the KIWA Talk of the Town Program, which can be heard on weekday mornings at 8:30 on KIWA-FM 105.3. We also post a podcast of every Talk of The Town Program, so if you’d like to hear more about what Dr. Stamp had to say, you can click here.
