Los Angeles, California — A Rock Rapids native will be on the next season of the hit TV show Survivor.
The show’s team revealed the 21 new castaways on Wednesday in a YouTube livestream. Among the castaways is Rock Rapids native, 24-year-old Carter Krull, who now lives in Sioux Falls.
CBS Entertainment says the 21 new castaways will compete against each other when the Emmy® Award-winning series premieres its 51st edition, kicking off the series’ new “Open Era” with a special two-hour episode, Wednesday, September 23rd (7:00-9:00 PM, CDT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+.
CBS says the groundbreaking reality series, which shifts to 90-minute weekly episodes beginning Wednesday, September 30th at 7:00 PM, returns with an all-new expanded class of dynamic and determined competitors. The 51st season marks the first of SURVIVOR’s “Open Era,” in which every twist, every idol, every advantage in the series’ history may come into play in any order and without warning.
Krull, a 2020 graduate and multi-sport standout from Central Lyon High School, went on to graduate from the University of Sioux Falls. He will join 20 other new Castaways, including a professional wrestler, sociology professor, medical student, and a baseball executive, embarking on the adventure of a lifetime on Survivor 51, where they will test their endurance, strategy, and willpower in pursuit of the title of Sole Survivor and the $1 million grand prize.
