43-Year-Old Man Injured in Sioux Center Rear-End Crash

Sioux Center, Iowa (Sioux County Radio) — A 43-year-old man was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a rear-end crash in Sioux Center.

According to the Sioux Center Police Department, the crash happened around 5 p.m. at the intersection of 16th Street Southeast and Seventh Avenue Southeast.

Police say the man was driving a 2010 Nissan Rogue westbound and was stopped at the intersection’s stop sign when a westbound 2004 Ford pickup, driven by a 45-year-old woman, struck the rear of the Rogue.

The man was transported by ambulance to Sioux Center Health with suspected minor injuries. The report lists three occupants in the Rogue. The woman was not injured.

Damage to each vehicle was estimated at $1,500. The Ford was driven from the scene, while the Rogue was left at the intersection.

The woman was cited for following too closely. The report did not identify either driver by name.
