Des Moines, Iowa (RI) — Governor-elect Rob Sand has named a former state government administrator and a union leader to oversee the transition to his administration.

Sand announced that Elisabeth Buck, who helped manage gubernatorial transitions for former Governors Tom Vilsack and Chet Culver, and Iowa State Education Association Political Director Morgan Miller will lead the transition effort.

The team has approximately 10 weeks to prepare for Sand’s inauguration, including identifying candidates for leadership positions in state agencies and other areas of state government.

Sand’s transition team has also launched a website, IowaForAll.com, providing information about employment opportunities in state government, as well as openings for state boards and commissions.

Earlier this week, Gov. Kim Reynolds said her administration is committed to a smooth transfer of power. Reynolds said her staff will work with the incoming administration to ensure it is prepared to assume responsibility on its first day in office.

Sand defeated Republican Zach Lahn in the Nov. 3rd election and will be sworn in as Iowa’s next governor in January.
