Spencer, Iowa — Seasons Center for Behavioral Health has received a $50,000 grant from the Iowa Primary Care Association to support projects aimed at strengthening operations, improving client access to services, supporting staff well-being, and building leadership capacity.

The funding will be used across four primary areas: business and service-line assessment, operational improvements, culture and change management, and leadership development.

According to Seasons Center, the grant will help fund development of the organization’s next three-year strategic plan, providing a roadmap for future growth and helping identify ways to better meet behavioral health needs across northwest Iowa.

The funding will also support upgrades to the client portal and electronic health records system. Officials say the improvements are designed to give clients more convenient access to services, improve communication options, and streamline processes such as electronic signatures and information collection.

In addition, the grant will provide training and professional development opportunities for staff, managers and organizational leaders.

Sarah Wurm, Seasons Center’s vice president of program development and specialized services, said the funding will help the organization strengthen its operations, invest in employees, and improve the experience of the individuals and families who rely on its services. She said those investments will help build a stronger foundation for behavioral health care throughout northwest Iowa.

Founded in 1959, Seasons Center for Behavioral Health provides a variety of services across northwest Iowa, including counseling, psychiatry, substance use treatment, crisis services, case management, peer support and school-based programs.
