Sioux City, Iowa (RI) — A Sioux City man is accused of threatening Woodbury County Attorney James Loomis and the Sioux City Police.
Police say 28-year-old Christian Burford is charged with two counts of threats of terrorism. Officers were called to the 300 block of Court Street around 7:30 Monday morning after papers were found that appeared threatening. One sheet included a photo of Loomis and a handwritten note claiming a bomb would be placed under his vehicle.
Sioux City Police were also contacted by the Fort Bend Justice Center in Richmond, Texas, which reported receiving an email just after 11 p.m. on Sunday, August 16th, threatening to bomb the Sioux City Police Department. Investigators traced information from a social-media account, which led to Burford’s arrest.
Burford is being held on $10,000 bond in the Woodbury County Jail.
