(KIWA Staff Photo)Larchwood, Iowa — A Sioux Falls woman has been arrested on burglary charges after a break-in in Larchwood.
A criminal complaint filed by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office in district court accuses 39-year-old Jodie Marie Williams of Sioux Falls of breaking into storage units in Larchwood. She was arrested on a warrant on Wednesday, September 23rd.
In his statement, the deputy says the alleged crime happened on September 2nd, when the sheriff’s office took the report of a possible burglary at the storage facility on Sports Loop Drive in Larchwood. The deputy says they have video surveillance footage showing two females using a bolt cutter to cut a lock on a storage unit and entering the unit. He says his office worked with South Dakota authorities to identify the vehicle and women involved.
Williams was charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison. She also faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of burglar’s tools.
No court dates have yet been set in the case.
Williams was booked into the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids and was released the same day after posting a $7300 cash or surety bond.
