Sioux City, Iowa (RI) — The Sioux Honey Association broke ground Tuesday on a new 440,000-square-foot honey production facility near the Sioux City airport.
Spokesperson Aimee Sandman says the project will carry them into the next chapter of the company.
She says the whole project will take about two years to complete.
Phase two involves construction of the new processing facility and warehouse, which is expected to open in 2028.
As part of the expansion, Sioux Honey will close its Anaheim, California office and move employees to Sioux City. The association expects to add about 39 new jobs once the project is complete.
