Sixth-Wettest April Followed by Drier-Than-Normal May

Statewide Iowa (RI) — State Climatologist Justin Glisan says there were more storms in May, but not much precipitation.

He says temperatures were just a bit warmer.

Glisan says June could help make up for the lack of moisture in May.

He says the year-to-date precipitation through May is lagging slightly.

Glisan says the dry weather did allow farmers to make good progress in planting.
