Rock Valley, Iowa — An SUV was destroyed in a fire on Monday, January 19, 2026, near Rock Valley.
According to Rock Valley Fire Chief Brent Eshuis, at about 2:15 p.m., the Rock Valley Fire Department was called to the report of a vehicle fire at 320th Street and Fig Avenue, a mile south of Rock Valley on K30 and a mile east.
When they got there, the chief says the fire department saw the engine compartment fully engulfed in flame, with the fire just starting to get into the passenger compartment. He says they used water and foam to fight the fire.
Eshuis says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire is undetermined, but it started in the engine compartment.
Chief Eshuis reports that the SUV was totaled.
He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about 15 to 20 minutes.
The chief says the Rock Valley Ambulance Squad and Sioux County Sheriff’s Office assisted them with the response to the fire.
