Hawarden, Iowa (KTIV) — Voters in the West Sioux School District approved a 10-year extension of the district’s Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) during Tuesday’s special election.
According to unofficial results, 62.3% of voters supported the extension, while 37.7% voted against it. The measure required more than 50% approval to pass.
The renewal continues the district’s $1.34 levy, which generates about $413,000 per year for building repairs and new equipment purchases across the district.
