(KIWA Staff Photo)Allendorf, Iowa — A Sioux City woman has been arrested on felony drug possession charges after a traffic stop near Allendorf.
A criminal complaint filed by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in District Court accuses 50-year-old Lindsay Collins of possession of a controlled substance.
In his statement, the deputy says the arrest happened during a traffic stop of a vehicle in which Collins was a passenger. A Crown Royal bag had been found in the ditch, which the deputy says Collins confirmed belonged to her. The deputy says it contained a leafy substance that later field-tested positive for marijuana, marijuana wax, and a white, rock-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Collins was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense, a class D felony. If convicted, Collins could face up to five years in prison on each count.
She faces a preliminary hearing on September 8th.
At last report, she remained in the Osceola County Jail in Sibley, in lieu of a $5000 cash or surety bond.
