Danny was born November 21, 1963 to Vernon and Barbara (Swanhorst) Meinerts in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He grew up on a farm in George Iowa where he, his father and his brothers worked bailing hay. Danny worked at the Kooiker family dairy farm for around 40 years. In 2020, Danny made the decision to retire due to his decline in health.

In 1987, Danny met Jayne Paulus on a forum for single Christians. They spent months writing letters back and forth to each other until they could finally meet. It didn’t take long for them to recognize they had a special connection, and they planned on spending the rest of their lives together. On August 15, 1987 Danny and Jayne were joined into marriage. The couple lived in Orange City, Iowa from 1987 to 1990. Together, they had two boys, Andrew and Anthony. The family later moved to Sioux Center, Iowa until the early 2000’s. After commuting to and from Sioux Falls, the family made the big move to the area. Danny was an avid Christian. Faith was a shared passion, and Jayne and Danny spent the last 35 years growing with the love of Christ and traveling to multiple conferences. They have both been members of Cornerstone Church for 30 years, where both of their boys also graduated.

Danny had many hobbies including cars, long drives with Jayne, had a special interest in pinball machines, and enjoyed rabbits.  Jayne and Danny had spent a lot of time at the race track. Danny loved sprint car racing and was hoping one day to get out on the track behind the wheel. Starting at an early age, Danny had an ear for music. Especially enjoying some good ol’ Rock n’ Roll, he and even tried out playing the guitar for a little while.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jayne Meinerts; his sons, Andrew (Megan) Johnson and Anthony (Jessica) Meinerts; his mother, Barbara Meinerts; his brothers, Gary (Laurie) Meinerts and Phillip Meinerts; his grandchildren, Madden, Ava, Brayden and Addyson; and his many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Meinerts; and his brothers, Troy and Paul Meinerts.
