Donald S. “Don” Paulson, age 80, of Sheldon, Iowa passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Hartley Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, Iowa.
All are welcome to attend a Graveside Service at 1:00 P.M Saturday April 22, 2023, at the St Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa
Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.
Donald S. “Don” Paulson, the son of Albert Sanfred and Esther Haroldine (Kort) Paulson, was born on July 5, 1942, in Sheldon, Iowa. He received his education in Sheldon, enjoyed playing trombone in the band and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1960.
Don was the lifelong operator, maintenance person and cook at the Sheldon Lanes/Rec Bowl on 3rd Avenue and then on Highway 18. Don also enjoyed farming with his brothers-in-law and spending time with his extended family.
Don passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Hartley Community Memorial Center, reaching the age of 80 years, 8 months and 19 days.
Don was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. He enjoyed golf and bowling in many leagues.
Left to cherish his memory are his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Esther Paulson; his sisters, LaVon (Paulson) & Louis Merley; Lois (Paulson) & Gerald Thorman; Doris (Paulson) & Richard Fondroy; nephew Darrel Fondroy; and niece Elaine (Fondroy) Floy.
