Tillie Meester, age 97 of Ellsworth, MN died on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Parkview Manor in Ellsworth, MN.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Zion Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth, MN, with Reverend Matt Miller officiating. Burial will follow the luncheon at the Grand Prairie Cemetery in Ellsworth, MN.
Visitation will be Monday March 3rd from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth, MN.

Tillie Lena Meester was born on January 17, 1917 in Toronto, SD, the daughter of Henry and Alice (Walters) Broesder. She was raised in the Ellsworth, MN and Little Rock, IA area and attended Country school there. On October 23, 1937, Tillie was united in marriage to Harm Meester at the Bethel Reformed Church rural Ellsworth. In 1944, they started farming near Ellsworth and farmed their entire married lives together until 1978, when they retired and moved into Ellsworth. On October 20, 1999, Tillie’s husband Harm passed away after sixty-two years of marriage. She was a member of the Zion Presbyterian Church for 63 years and enjoyed attending Bible study on Wednesday mornings. Tillie was a member of the Royal Neighbors. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and league bowling. She also taught her grandchildren to play cards at an early age. Her favorite past time was playing cards with her kids and grandkids, as well as listening to the Minnesota Twins and High School sports games on the radio. She especially enjoyed having coffee at the Ellsworth Café with her friends and loved to go out to eat.
Tillie is survived by four children: Glen (Marlene) Meester of Ellsworth, MN, Harlan (Sharon) Meester of Sartell, MN, Norman (Vickie) Meester of Sioux Falls, SD, and Jolene (Paul) Klein of Sioux Falls, SD, fourteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Jennie Lenz of Adrian, MN; and sister-in-law, Rose Meester of Ellsworth, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one in infancy; two sisters; and a granddaughter Melisa Meester.
