(Logo courtesy of the Great Plains Athletic Conference)Sioux City, Iowa — A Dordt University women’s soccer player has been named as a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women’s Soccer Player-of-the-Week as announced by the GPAC Tuesday, September 29th.
Maria Zylstra is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Zylstra, a junior, from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, turned in a nine-point week in leading the Defenders to a 1-0-1 record in conference play.
She netted a career-high four goals in the Defenders 8-0 win against Waldorf. Zylstra followed that performance by assisting on the Defenders lone goal in a 1-1 draw against College of Saint Mary.
