Altena Shoots Career-Best At Morningside Invite

Western Christian graduate Jamie Altena carded a career-best round in leading Northwestern to a second place finish at the Morningside Invite played Wednesday at the Whispering Creek Golf Club in Sioux City, Iowa.

Playing in their second meet of the spring, the Red Raiders carded their best score of the year (341), seven shots in back of first place Morningside (334). They tied Mount Marty for second place out of eight teams. Briar Cliff (349) placed fourth while Midland and Nebraska Wesleyan tied for fifth with a 361.

Two Red Raiders placed in the top 10, led by Altena with a career-best finish (T-7th) and score (82). The junior’s previous best was an 85 at the third GPAC Qualifier last spring. Mikayla Christensen tied for 10th with an 85, her second best round of the season. West Sioux graduate Courtney Hummel tied for 12th with an 86, followed by Unity graduate Chanda Zomermaand (T-17th-88) and Anna Perrenoud (T-39th-98).

Amy Ahlers of Concordia claimed medalist honors with a one-under 71, the only player under par and one of two players who shot in the 70’s. Kristin Sabers (DWU) placed second with a 77.

Seasons Center Receives Grant

Sioux Center, Iowa – The Sioux Center Community Foundation has awarded Seasons Center with a $1,000 grant to update the waiting
