BHRV Advances With Shutout Of Storm Lake

Rock Valley, Iowa — Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley used 5 takeaways and powerful running game to shutout Storm Lake 42-0 at Nick Hulst Field in Rock Valley Friday night to advance to the 3rd round of the high school football playoffs.

After forcing a quick Storm Lake 3-and-out, BHRV travelled 47 yards down the field and scored on a Landyn Van Kekerix 18 touchdown reception to make it 7-0 with 7:49 to go in the first quarter.

Kody Noble scored three times in the second quarter from 10, 2, and 8 yards out to give BHRV a 28-0 lead heading into halftime. The 2 yard score was set up by an interception by Cole Huyser taken from the endzone all the way to the Storm Lake 2, and the 8 yarder was set up by a missed handled punt snap by the Tornadoes.

The Nighthawks added two scores in the third and cruised to a 42-0 win.

With the win, BHRV improves to 6-2 on the year. Storm Lake’s season comes to an end at 5-4.

BHRV’s next opponent will be released at noon on Saturday.
