Clayton Bosma of Orange City has signed a letter of intent to continue his football and baseball careers at Northwestern College next fall.
Bosma is a 6’2″, 175-pound quarterback / safety who played four years for the Unity Christian High School football team. Bosma ranked second in 2A-District 1 with 1,765 yards of offense while leading the Knights to a 5-4 record. He threw for 1,429 yards and 20 touchdowns, tied for the second most touchdowns passes in 2A. Bosma added 336 rushing yards and eight scores while accumulating 25.5 tackles from his safety position. He is a two-time all-district selection.
“Clayton is an outstanding competitor and leader,” stated Head Coach Matt McCarty. “He is a gifted athlete who has excelled as both a runner and passer. Clayton has a bright future at quarterback and is a great signing for our program.”
Also a four-year letter winner in baseball heading into his final season this summer, Bosma led the Knights with a .407 batting average as a junior. He totaled eight doubles and scored a team-high 7 runs in earning first team all-conference and first team all-Northwest Iowa Review honors. Bosma posted a 5-1 record with a 3.29 ERA on the mound, striking out 34 batters in 27.2 innings pitched. He earned academic all-state honors and plans to study Biology / Health Professions / Pre-Vet at Northwestern. Bosma is the son of Beau and Erin.
