Cylcones Look To Heal During Week Off

Ames, Iowa — Iowa State coach Matt Campbell says defensive end JaQuan Bailey will redshirt and return for his final season.

Bailey underwent surgery after suffering a leg injury in ISU’s Big 12 opener at Baylor.

Campbell says Bailey hopes to be cleared for winter workouts.

The Cyclones are off until a November 9th visit to Oklahoma and Campbell hopes the time off will allow some injured players to heal. That includes safety Greg Eisworth.

Brock Purdy threw interceptions on the final three drives of a 34-27 loss to Oklahoma State but Campbell says he was most disappointed with the start of the game.

The defense gave up several big plays in the opening half.

Campbell says they will use the off week to focus on fundamentals.
