Taylor De Jong of Larchwood has signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Northwestern College.
De Jong is a 5’7″ infielder who has played four years for the West Lyon High School softball team heading into her senior season. De Jong hit .396, scored 21 runs and drove in a team-best 35 RBI in leading the Wildcats to the regional semifinals with a 20-8 overall record. She earned first team all-conference honors and is an academic all-conference selection in both softball and volleyball.
“I chose Northwestern College because it is a great Christian community and it really feels like home,” said De Jong. “I think the college is a good fit for me and my personality; I am really excited to attend Northwestern.”
An honor roll student, De Jong plans to major in elementary education at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Tim and Joni.
