Dordt Hosts GPAC Foe Dakota Wesleyan Tonight

Sioux Center, Iowa — Dordt will host Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday night, September 22 in GPAC volleyball. The junior varsity match starts at 6:00 with the varsity scheduled to begin at 7:30.

Dakota Wesleyan has opened the 2021 season with a 13-1 record and have won seven matches in a row since a 3-2 lost to Central Methodist on September 3. The Tigers are 3-0 in league play with wins over Morningside (3-0), Northwestern (3-0) and Briar Cliff (3-1).

The Tigers are averaging 13.96 kills per set with a .254 kill efficiency and the Tigers are allowing 10.43 kills per contest and hold teams to a .114 kill efficiency. The Tigers also average 2.19 points per set on blocks while opponents get 1.66. Wesleyan also has a 79-45 ace serves edge on opponents this season.

The Defenders are 10-2 this season with losses to Viterbo and Jamestown, a pair of teams in the top-five in the most recent NAIA Coaches’ poll. The Defenders stand 2-1 in league play with wins over Briar Cliff and Morningside and the loss to Jamestown last week.

Corrina Timmermans got 3.9 kills per contest with a .207 kill efficiency while Jessi Franken and Brenna Krommendyk are at 2.6 and 2.4 respectively and Krommendyk’s kill efficiency is .327. Megan Raszler is good for 5.33 assists per set to lead the team and Campbell Marshall is at 4.83. Erica Bousema leads the team in digs with 5.17 and Krommendyk leads in blocks with 1.21.

Dordt has a 12.64-11.9 kills per set advantage and record 2.01 points per set on blocks and own a 65-40 season ace serves advantage.
