Sioux Center, Iowa — The Dordt Defenders will host Doane in men’s basketball on Saturday, February 12 at 3:45 pm. The Defenders will recognize the seniors associated with the program at the conclusion of the women’s game.
The Doane Tigers are 16-11 this season and 9-8 in the league. Doane has been as hot as any team in the league since being on the road from December 3-Jauary 8. At that point in the season Ian McKeithan’s team was 10-9. Since January 8 the Tigers are 8-2 ad the two losses have been to Jamestown (73-66) and Northwestern (84-83).
Dordt is 18-8 this season and 10-7 in the GPAC with two conference games remaining after this game. The Defenders have won five of their last six.
Dordt is outscoring teams 81.2-72.5 and outrebound teams 36-34. Dordt is also making 49.4 percent of its field goals and surrender 44 percent success. The Defenders have made 37 percent of their three-point attempts and average 10 turnovers a game while forcing 11 per outing.
Bryce Coppock scores 18.9 points per game and has made 54 three-point shots with 4.3 rebounds per game and 2.3 assists. Coppock is making 46 percent of his field goals and 38 percent of his three-point attempts. Cade Bleeker is scoring 13 points per game to go with 4.5 rebounds and Luke Rankin is at 10.4 points per game with 4.7 assists. Jackson Louscher adds 8.3 points per game and Jacob Vis was averaging 15.9 points per game before being sidelined January 15.
Dordt will travel to face Northwestern on Wednesday night while Doane is at Mount Marty. The Defenders conclude the regular season on Saturday at Jamestown.
