Dordt Men Scheduled For Two In Orange City

Orange City, Iowa — The Dordt Defender men’s basketball team will face Bellevue (Nebraska) and Viterbo (Wisconsin) on Friday and Saturday, November 12 and 13.

Dordt faces Bellevue at 4:00 on Friday and Viterbo at 2:00 on Saturday.

The Defenders are 4-1 this season and have won four in a row after a season opening overtime loss to William Penn.

The Defenders score 90.4 points per game and surrender 74 and outrebound teams 40-2-33.2. The Defenders are converting 52.9 percent of their field goals and allow teams to convert 40.4. Dordt has also gotten to the free throw line 97 times and have made an 81.4 percent clip while opponents have 67 attempts.

Bryce Coppock scores 18.2 points per game and gets 4.4 rebounds with three assists per outing. Jacob Vis scores 13.8 points per game and converts 63.6 percent of his field goals and gets 8.3 rebounds. Luke Rankin averages 13.2 points per game with 6.2 assists and Cade Bleeker and Camden Bialas score 12.8 and 10.2 points per game.

Bellevue is 3-2 this season with losses to Briar Cliff and MidAmerica Nazarene and the Bruins are on a two game winning streak with wins over Cardinal Stritch and Peru State on November 5 and 6.

Viterbo is 3-0 this season with wins over Marian (Wisconsin), Grand View and Edgewood.

Dordt is scheduled to play Morningside in Sioux City on Wednesday, November 17 and will host Concordia on Saturday, November 20.
