Dordt Women’s Cross Country Holds Spot In National Poll

Sioux Center, Iowa — Dordt University continues to hold a spot in the NAIA Women’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 poll released Thursday by the national office.

After moving up four spots in the second edition of the coaches’ poll released last week, the Defenders maintained their spot at No.14 in today’s rating. Dordt is one of four teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference recognized in this week’s poll, joining No.11 Concordia, No.24 Hastings and (RV) Morningside.

St.Francis (Ill.) is the top rated team once again and totaled 591 points. Milligan (Tenn.) is a close second, followed by Cornerstone (Mich.), Taylor (Ind.) and Saint Mary (Kan.)

Dordt finished second at its home meet last weekend, the Defenders Holiday Inn Express Classic, and put five runners in the top 20. Jessica Kampman finished fourth with a 5K time of 18:50 and was named the GPAC Runner of the Week for the third time this fall.

The Defenders will have the weekend off before competing in the Mount Marty Invite, their final meet prior to the conference championship.
