Doubleheader Football Preview October 23rd

football 1Northwest Iowa — The final week of the regular season in Iowa high school football finds the Sheldon Orabs closing out the season at Central Lyon George Little Rock.

The Orabs are coming off a home loss to MOC Floyd Valley. Central Lyon George Little Rock posted a home win over Sioux Center.

Orab head coach Tyler Lloyd talks about the Lions football tradition.

Lloyd feels it’s important for the Orabs to focus on themselves tonight and any opportunities that may be presented to them.

The Orabs athleticism has the attention of Lions head coach Toby Lorenzen.

For Central Lyon George Little Rock the keys to the game begin with avoiding pre-snap penalties.

LA and the coach Kent DeZeeuw bring you the coverage on KIWA AM 1550.

On KIWA FM 105.3 it’s Boyden Hull Rock Valley at Dennison Schleswig. The Nighthawks got an important district home win over LeMars last Friday while Dennison Schleswig fell to Sergeant Bluff Luton on the road.

The Nighthawks are 6-2 on the year and 3-2 in the district with the Monarchs looking for their first win.

Nighthawks coach Corey Brandt talks about going against a team looking for their first win of the season.

Wrapping up the regular season and with the playoffs looming Brandt would like a strong performance from all phases of his team.

Monarchs head coach Chad Van Kley is impressed with the effort the Nighthawks play the game with.

Van Kley sees the game coming down to what he calls “basic football”.
