Friday Football Broadcast Preview For October 1st

Week six of the high school football season features a continuation of the district chase. Both of our broadcast match ups are homecoming games. Sheldon travels to Cherokee while Boyden Hull Rock Valley will be at Sioux Center.

Sheldon will take a 2-3 over all record and 1-1 district mark into Cherokee where the Braves have put together a 3-2 season. Cherokee is 0-2 in district play. Sheldon fell to West Lyon at home last week. Cherokee traveled to Central Lyon George  Little Rock where they were upended by the Lions.

For Cherokee Head Coach Tony Gunter it’s the Orab running game that stands out.

The big key for the Braves will be to eliminate turnovers.

The coach Kory Roos joins LA for the coverage on KIWA AM 1550/FM 100.7 with pregame at 6:30 and opening kick at 7:00.

Boyden Hull Rock Valley takes a 5-0 record and 1-0 district mark into Sioux Center where the Warriors have gone 2-3 and 0-1 in 3A’s district 1. The Nighthawks are coming off a win at Rock Valley over Carroll. Sioux Center opened the district schedule with a loss at Sergeant Bluff Luton.

Nighthawks Head Coach Corey Brandt feels the Warriors are a team playing it’s best football while still improving.

The Nighthawks special teams have the attention of Warriors Head Coach Tim Van Regenmorter.

Van Regenmorter feels his team will need to defend the entire field to end the night with a win.
