The Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) announced district basketball assignmets for Class 1A and Class 2A at 3 p.m. today (Monday, February 5).
In Class 1A Substate 1, District 1 Sibley-Ocheyedan will play Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn in the opening round Friday, February 9.
The Trinity Christian boys are also in Class 1A Substate 1, District 1. The Tigers got an opening round bye and will play Newell-Fonda on Monday, February 12.
South O’Brien is in Class 1A Substate 1, District 2 and also got an opening round bye. The Wolverines will play Monday, February 12 against the winner of Boyer Valley and Whiting who both play Friday, February 9.
Boyden-Hull and George-Little Rock are in Class 1A Substate 2, District 4. The Mustangs and Comets both received opening round byes and will play Monday, Feb. 12.
In Class 2A West Lyon got an opening round bye in District 1, Substate 1, and will play the winner of Cherokee and Sioux Central of Sioux Rapids Thursday, Feb. 15. Cherokee and Sioux Central will play their first game Monday, Feb. 12.
Sheldon is also in Class 2A Substate 1, District 1 and will play Spirit Lake Monday, Feb. 12 in the opening round.
The Western Christian Wolfpack are in Class 2A Substate 2, District 3 and received an opening round bye. Western Christian will play the winner of Rock Valley and Okoboji Thursday, Feb. 15. The Rockets and Pioneers play in the opening round Monday, Feb. 12.
The Unity Christian Knights are in Class 2A Substate 1, District 2, and will play the winner of Ridge View and MVAO-COU on Thursday, Feb. 15. Ridge View and MVAO-COU will play their opening round game on Monday, Feb. 12.
