Iowa vs Wisconsin Preview

If Iowa is going to make a serious run at the west division title the Hawkeyes need to find a way to solve the Wisconsin defense.

In the last three meetings the Iowa offense has only scored one touchdown.

That’s Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz who says the Hawkeyes will need to respond with a solid defensive effort of their own.

Ferentz says the Badgers have been winning with a similar style since Barry Alvarez turned the program around in the 90s.

Ferentz says while the conference opener is against the division favorite the Hawkeyes will need a consistent effort for nine games to be a factor in the Big Ten.

Running back Ivory Kelly-Martin, receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette and guard Cole Banwart all missed the Northern Iowa game due to injury. All three returned to practice on Tuesday.

Kick off is at 7:30 pm at Kinnick Stadium.
