Irwin Signs With NWC Football

Orange City, Iowa — Eli Irwin (Orange City, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next fall.

Irwin is a 6’1″, 190-pound linebacker who played three years for the Unity Christian High School football team. Irwin accounted for 28 tackles, three for a loss, in leading his team to the state playoffs and a 5-4 record. He was named academic all-conference and has also lettered in baseball and track and field for the Knights. Irwin plans to study Accounting / Business at Northwestern and is the son of Tim and Deena.

“Eli is an outstanding mission fit who will excel at Northwestern,” commented head coach Matt McCarty. “We are excited for the opportunity to work with Eli and see the impact that he will have on the Northwestern community over the next four years.”

“Northwestern is a strong Christian college that excels in both academics and athletics,” said Irwin. “I was impressed with the coaches and professors and feel that Northwestern has a great environment for me to grow in all aspects of life.”
